JACKSONVILLE, FL -- A man is dead and another is in the hospital following a shooting on the Northside. Police describe the crime as a "ride-by" since the gunman rode up on a bicycle.
Witnesses recalled hearing six gunshots this morning at 13th and Moncrief.
The shooting victims have not been identified by police, but family members identified the man killed as 21 year old Michael Lamar Perry.
"I don't know who killed him," said his mother Regina Middleton. "I don't know what happened. I know one thing, someone will come forward. This is Miss Regina talking to you all. You all come tell me who killed my child."
No word on a motive.
Police say the two shooting victims were standing on a bike path when they were approached by a young man on a bicycle who opened fire.
Police say the gunman, a young black male, had a white t-shirt and blue jean shorts, and rode a green-colored beach cruiser bicycle.
